The proposal is orientated towards the north- east aspect, capturing optimal solar orientation. The internal layout are planned accordingly by positioning the living spaces and balconies facing north east, this also helps to capture the sight lines towards Brisbane river and CBD.

12-18 Crombie Street design intent is to provide a high-quality outcome in the Brisbane Milton precinct. The tower design has been developed with a vernacular and subtropical conscious in mind. The quality in unit design, recreational facilities, ground floor amenities and fluidity in form all assist in developing a building that further invigorates and populates Milton, Brisbane.

The fluid build form and perforated mesh screen facade represents the notion of “Voile”. The idea derived from cotton production by a prominent business developer in Milton, Ambrose Elridge.

The mesh screen is balanced by the integration of green climbers and cascading planter beds. This treatment is consistent throughout the design and follows through to street with the intent on activating the public realm.

Planters are introduced at intervals units, embracing subtropical living and further encouraging residences to embrace outdoor living. Full-height sliding doors and awning windows are utilised for the corner units to enable cross ventilation.

Balconies form part of the living room and bedrooms as an extended outdoor living space. All apartments are provided with operable awning windows and sliding doors connecting the outdoor balconies

Ruby Ruby conveys a strong architectural language rich in form and function.
