As a Principal at Cottee Parker Architects, Kim is a highly qualified and experienced architect that focuses on balancing design as an art form while also delivering commercial outcomes for clients. Kim’s broad project experience has seen him work on large-scale infrastructure developments including high-profile multi-residential, transport and retail projects across Australia and internationally.
With expert insight into what it takes to deliver commercially viable design solutions, Kim’s approach to design centres on building relationships with stakeholders to ensure the designs are on brief and the project is delivered within the budget. By taking the time to understand the intricacies of a project brief, Kim is able to deliver designs that not only bring a developer’s vision to life, but leave an enduring mark on the built environment.
With his design mind set front-and-centre, Kim has been heavily influenced by both traditional and contemporary Japanese architecture, and architects such Kengo Kuma. These influences drive Kim to deliver designs that are not only aesthetically-pleasing, but also consider the end-user and the surrounding community.
As a principal at Cottee Parker, Kim strives to mentor and inspire younger team members, and to educate them on how to deliver design solutions that blend the commercial needs of the development industry with the finesse of thoughtfully-crafted architecture.
